While the folks here at Dallas and Pals are attracted to the treats and sweets that usually accompany these holidays, dogs tend to be attracted to these treats and sweets as well.
These goodies usually include chocolate, jelly beans, and other candies. Yummy for people, bad for dogs.
Chocolate contains theobromine, and jelly beans and other candies may contain xyletol. Unfortunately both of these substances are highly toxic to dogs.
If your dog manages to eat candy, call your vet or poison control immediately!
Keeping all sweets in a place that your dog can’t access will allow you to enjoy your holidays.
